Tony Stewart Toy Drive To Benefit Indiana Kids, Organizations

The Tony Stewart Foundation has partnered with Church Brothers Collision Repair and Indianapolis' Orchard School to present the fifth annual Tony's Toy Drive, taking place now through Friday, Dec. 18.

New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off during business hours at the Tony Stewart Racing retail store on the northwest corner of West 74th Street & Zionsville Road in Park 100. Toys also can be delivered to any of the six Church Brothers Collision Repair locations throughout the metro Indianapolis area:

Downtown - 135 McCarty Street, opposite Lucas Oil Stadium
Castleton - 7650 East 88th Place, corner of East 88th Street & Hague Road
Greenwood - 155 Melody Avenue, near SR 135 & Main Street
Avon - 55 Vista Park Way
Zionsville - 4806 Northwestern Drive, near Michigan Road & 106th Street
Shadeland - 751 N. Shadeland Ave., just north of the former Eastgate Shopping Center.

More than 5,000 youngsters have received gifts through earlier Toy Drive events.

"And we're hoping for even greater support this year since the need has increased substantially due to the state of the economy," Foundation treasurer Pam Boas said.

Out-of-town fans of two-time Brickyard 400 winner Tony Stewart can participate by mailing toys or monetary contributions to: Tony's Toy Drive, c/o Tony Stewart Foundation, 5644 W. 74th St., Indianapolis, IN 46278. 

Eight organizations have been named 2009 Tony's Toy Drive beneficiaries. Each designated organization will distribute the toys among families in need prior to the holidays. The groups include the Julian Center, Sheltering Wings, Concord Center, Third Phase, and the Community Alliance for the Far-Eastside (CAFÉ), all in the metro Indianapolis area; the Columbus (Ind.) Firemen's Cheer Fund; the Rushville (Ind.) Toys for Tots, and the annual Kokomo Trip in Kokomo, Ind.

The Tony Stewart Foundation was established in 2003.
